So-called when different chemotherapeutic medicines are administered in small low intensity doses, such that the side effects are very light if not almost non-existent and therefore this treatment may be considered for longer periods of time.

This type of chemotherapy has been shown to stimulate the patient’s immune system, therefore it is not incompatible with intratumoural treatment using immunotherapeutic medicine.

The same thing happens with radiotherapy when administered in low but repeated doses and so it is not totally incompatible with intratumoural treatment, since when administered in this way it also exercises a stimulant effect on the patient’s immune system.
